The South Asian Post is B.C.'s premier English language South Asian newspaper. The newspaper specialises in providing South Asian news and views with a Canadian perspective. A companion paper to its sister publication -- The Asian Pacific Post, founded in 1993 -- the South Asian Post is published in Vancouver, British Columbia. Printed on a weekly basis, it is distributed on a complementary basis and reaches an audience of 160,000 readers. Through street boxes, racks in high traffic areas, and spot locations, The South Asian Post is available in over 5,000 locations throughout Metro Vancouver, home to some 250,000 South Asians.
In 2003, The Asian Pacific Post, won a Jack Webster award for Excellence in Journalism for Best Community Reporting. The Asian Pacific Post was also recognised by The Georgia Straight as the best English language ethnic media in the 'Best of Vancouver 2003' awards. Since its launch in 2007, The South Asian Post has attained a well-deserved reputation for its investigative news stories, and hard-hitting editorials. The South Asian Post is growing in circulation with each issue and will continue to provide an uncompromising and much needed independent voice in a highly centralized media industry.
